    Registration is now taking place for the Youth Baseball Program which includes the following leagues:  Tee Ball - ages 5 and 6; Youth LL - ages 7 and 8; Junior LL - ages 9 and 10; and Senior LL - ages 10-12.  (Ages are figured as of April 30, 2017)  Ten (10) year olds may try out for a Senior Little League team.  A 10-year-old who is not selected for a Senior Little League team will be automatically placed on a Junior Little League team.  Eleven (11) and twelve (12) year old players ARE NOT eligible for Junior Little League.  Click here for a registration form or click here to register online.  Registration forms are available at area schools and the City Building.  Registration forms must be returned to the City Building by Wed., April 5th for Senior Little League and Friday, April 14th for all other leagues.  Mandatory tryouts for those ages 10 thru 12 year of age wishing to participate in Senior Little League have been scheduled for Thur., April 6 at 7:00 pm., Tue., Apr. 11th at 7:00 p.m. at Oakwood Park.  Players who participated in the Senior Little League last season must return a registration form but need not attend tryouts.  Volunteer coaches are needed for all leagues.  The fee to participate is $20.00 for a resident and $30.00 for a non-resident except for Senior Little League.  The fee for Senior Little League is $25.00 payable to the Napoleon Baseball Association.  For more information, contact the City Building at 592-4010.

A preseason Girls Softball Skills Clinic has been scheduled for girls registered to participate in the Minor League and Major League (grades 4 – 7) softball programs.  The clinic dates will be Sunday, March 26th and Sunday, April 2nd from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. at the Napoleon Junior High School gymnasium.  There will also be a one day clinic for girls registered for the Henry County Bank League and the Rookie League (grades K – 3) on April 9th from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. at the Napoleon Junior High School.  The clinic will cover basic skills including hitting, fielding, and baserunning.  There is no cost for the clinic although to participate, you must be registered for a rec league or bring a completed form to the first day of the clinic.  All players and coaches are highly encouraged to attend.

      Registration is now underway for the Girls Softball program.  The program consists of four leagues from Kindergarten through 7th Grade.  The Henry County Bank League is a developmental league for girls currently in grades K-1 (no begindergarten or pre-school children); the Rookie League is for girls in grades 2 and 3 and teaches fundamental and skill development; the Minor League program is for girls in grades 4 and 5 and serves as an entry level program for fast pitch softball; the Major League is a competitive fast pitch league for girls in grades 6 and 7.  Fees to participate are $20.00 for a resident and $30.00 for a non-resident.  Click here to register online.  Click here for a registration form  Registration deadline is Wed, March 22.  Volunteer coaches are needed.  Contact the City Building for more information.

     The Reiser & Lehman Basketball Shooting Camp will be returning to Napoleon in June.  This camp is for boys entering grades 5 - 8 and girls entering grades 5 - 7.  An advanced camp for girls entering grades 8 - 10 is also being offered. The camp will be held at the Napoleon Middle School from June 26th - June 29th.  Click here for more information and a registration form.

     Open swimming is now taking place at the Napoleon High School pool.  Open swim for adults 18 and over are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 8:30 - 10:00 pm.  Swimming for all ages is held on Sunday afternoons from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.  Admission is $2.00 per person. 

     The Napoleon Golf Course clubhouse is now closed for the season.  Off season play will be allowed based on course conditions.  Please obey all posted signs.

     A new private boat dock storage policy has been implemented by the City of Napoleon.  There will be a $50.00 annual fee to place docks at the Ritter Park boatramp facility.  In addition to the annual fee, dock storage will also be  subject to various removal dates based on the zone in which they are stored.  Click here to view the entire policy including a description of the storage zones.  Click here for a storage permit registration form For more information, contact the City Building at 419-592-4010. 

      The new Off-Leash Dog Park is located in East Riverdowns Park on E. Front St.  To access the dog park, a $10.00 annual membership is required.  Click here for more information on becoming a member.

     The Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the United Karate System and its instructor Randy Hann is currently offering Karate Classes.  Sessions are held on Tuesday and Sundays at Oberhaus Park Community Center and at the Napoleon Elementary School.   For class information, visit www.karatebyhann.com.
