      The Parks and Recreation Department in cooperation with the Napoleon High School girls’ basketball has announced that registration is now underway for Little Lady Cats Basketball.  The program is offered to girls in 3rd through 6th grades and will be held on Saturday afternoons beginning December 9th.  Girls in grades 3 and 4 will meet from 12:00 - 1:30 pm. at the Elementary School gym while girls in grades 5 and 6 will meet from 2:00 - 3:30 pm. in the Junior High School gym.  Instructional sessions and games will be led by the Napoleon High School coaching staff and players.  Players will learn fundamentals and compete in games.  Sessions will be held on Dec. 9th, 23rd, 30th; Jan. 6th, 13th, 20thPlayers are to report to the program each date at the appropriate time.  No phone calls or emails will be made to players prior to the start of the program.   Click here for a registration form.  Registration forms are available at all local schools, at the City Building.  Click here to register online.  The registration deadline is on December 7th.  For more information, contact the City Building at 419-592-4010.

      Registration is underway for the Boys Youth Basketball program for boys in grades 3 thru 6.  The program will be coordinated by the Napoleon High School boys basketball coaching staff.  This program will stress skill development while incorporating competitive game play.  Sessions will be held on Saturday mornings with the 3rd and 4th grades meeting from 9:00 – 10:30 am. and the 5th and 6th grades from 10:30 – 12:00 pm.  Sessions will be held on December 2nd, 9th, 16th; January 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th at the Napoleon Elementary School.  All players are to report on the first day of the program.  Click here for a registration form or click here to register online Deadline for registering is November 29th.  For additional information, contact the City Building at 592-4010.

       Indoor open swimming is now taking place at the Napoleon High School.  The pool is open for the entire family on Sunday afternoons from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.  There will also be pool hours on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 8:30 - 10:00 p.m. for those adults 18 and over.  Admission is $2.00 per person.   

       The Napoleon Golf Course clubhouse is now closed for the season.  We ask that obey posted signs related to any off season golf or sledding at the facility.  Thank you for your patronage.

     A new private boat dock storage policy has been implemented by the City of Napoleon.  There will be a $50.00 annual fee to place docks at the Ritter Park boatramp facility.  In addition to the annual fee, dock storage will also be  subject to various removal dates based on the zone in which they are stored.  Click here to view the entire policy including a description of the storage zones.  Click here for a storage permit registration form For more information, contact the City Building at 419-592-4010. 

      The new Off-Leash Dog Park is located in East Riverdowns Park on E. Front St.  To access the dog park, a $10.00 annual membership is required.  Click here for more information on becoming a member.

     The Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the United Karate System and its instructor Randy Hann is currently offering Karate Classes.  Sessions are held on Tuesday and Sundays at Oberhaus Park Community Center and at the Napoleon Elementary School.   For class information, visit www.karatebyhann.com.
