HISTORY OF YOUR LAW DIRECTOR

I, David M. Grahn was born in 1955 in Defiance County, Ohio and currently live with my family in Napoleon, Ohio. I chose to move to Napoleon, Ohio in 1993 after taking the position of Napoleon City Prosecutor due to a desire to become part of the community. Prior to becoming employed with the City of Napoleon, I served as a Deputy Sheriff in Defiance County, Ohio for 14 years obtaining the position of Detective Sergeant where I was primarily responsible in handling major crime investigation. In an effort to pursue my career as an attorney, I became employed as an Assistant County Prosecutor for neighboring Paulding County, Ohio where I served for 2 years, responsible for adult and juvenile prosecution as well as acting as legal advisor to the Township and County officials.

I graduated from Defiance High School in 1973; thereafter while employed full-time, I attended and graduated from Defiance College with a bachelor degree in Criminal Justice in 1980, and then attended and graduated from the University of Toledo, College of Law with a juris doctor degree in the year 1989. I am currently licensed to practice law in the courts of the State of Ohio as well as in the Unites States Federal Court (Northern District). I am a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Ohio Municipal Attorney's Association. I have been privileged to serve as an advisor on the Governor's Task Force Stop Violence Against Women; also Chairman of the Henry County Board of Elections.
